Visiting the United States from the river allows you an intimate encounter with the people and places that make the United States of America a great country.

You will visit cities and villages. Take in the music of the region, stories about your cruising area will be told, and you can find out first hand about the vast array of cultures thriving within one large country.

R.B. River Explorer is not one boat, she is in fact one vessel made from three. Miss Nari is her tow boat providing steering and propulsion for the other two craft, the barges. LaSalle Barge is in the middle, and houses all the cabins. DeSoto Barge takes the lead and is home to all the publice space.

This is where you will find the lobby; I don't want to give away any secrets here, but ... the lobby is where you will find the ... perpetual cookie jar!

Once you have quelled your desire for baked goodies, you may find that a somewhat more active diversion is in order. You may even; if you feel particularly guilt ridden about being a cookie monster, ease your conscience by taking a spot of activity. There is an excersice room, bumper pool, and shuffle board. Perhaps taking a few laps of the walking/jogging track will help you atone.

A unique public space in River Explorer is the guest pilot house. From here you can take in an excellent view of the river, listen in on the captains radio transmissions, peer into the radar screen, or get your bearings by perusing the navigational charts.

The cabins in River Explorer are not beautifully decorated. They are clean, bright, and feature a bathtub. In each cabin you will find a pair of binoculars for use during your cruise. In addition to nature viewing, you may like to use the binoculars to scan the night sky. You may be pleasently surprised by how much there is to see when you are away from the light pollution generated by our big cities.

Dining in River Explorer is very casual, with breakfast and lunch served buffet style. The food isn't too fancy, but it is delicious.

Your cruise fare includes three meals daily, port charges, shore activites, taxes and tips.
